On Thursday 21st January 2021, Te Āhuru Mōwai hosted a BBQ / Clean up day on Owhiti Street in Titahi Bay. The team at Te Āhuru Mōwai provided free sausages and kebabs for tenants and free ice-creams for the tamariki. They also managed to fill 4 x skip bins to capacity and done 2 x tip runs.
The aim of the clean up day was to help tenants remove any rubbish they may have found hard to get rid of. Removing stored rubbish at the front of people’s homes clears up the neighbourhood a bit, and makes their interior spaces feel a bit nicer.
The families were so very appreciative, giving staff kisses and allowing relationship managers to enter their homes, and form better relationships with our whānau.
We could not have done this without the help of:
- Regional Public Health
- The Fermanis Whānau
- Ken Khan North City Skip Bins
- Te Āhuru Mōwai Staff
