'E Kai' Soup Kitchen Opens in Porirua - Nourishing Our Community

WELLfed is excited to share that the 'E Kai' soup kitchen has officially opened its doors in Porirua! This community-led initiative is a collaboration between Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira, WELLfed, and Porirua City Council, aiming to provide warm meals and a welcoming space for those in need.

Operating every Monday from 5pm to 7pm at Hei Oranga Ake, 'E Kai' offers more than just food—it's about connection, care, and manaakitanga. Volunteers from all walks of life, including our dedicated team at WELLfed, come together to prepare hearty soups made with aroha.

As WELLfed co-founder Kim Murray shared, “This kaupapa goes beyond food—it's about connection, care, and showing respect for everyone in our community.”
