WELLfed is excited to share that the 'E Kai' soup kitchen has officially opened its doors in Porirua! This community-led initiative is a collaboration between Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira, WELLfed, and Porirua City Council, aiming to provide warm meals and a welcoming space for those in need.

Every Tuesday, we have Damien Hazlewood from The Salvation Army on-site offering free financial mentoring for our tenant whānau.

This morning our kaimahi came together for a special Pink Morning Tea in support of Pink Ribbon Day – a cause close to many of our hearts.

We’ve teamed up with Cannons Creek Boxing Academy to bring FREE boxing classes to all Te Āhuru Mōwai tenant tamariki and rangatahi — for a whole year!

Te Āhuru Mōwai, New Zealand’s largest Māori-owned Community Housing Provider, is building 10 rental homes on Beach Road, Paekākāriki.

Early morning blessing led by Sir Matiu Rei at Whanga Cresent, clearing the way for civils mahi( WCL) and soon to be building 7 new homes for whanau.

Each year, we host two Community Hui in three areas—Titahi Bay, Elsdon, and Tawa/Linden—to connect with our tenant whānau and understand how we can better support them. These hui are a space for kōrero, sharing, and shaping initiatives that help lighten the load for our whānau.

As the year draws to a close, we're taking a moment to reflect on the amazing memories we’ve created together in 2024. From our Tamariki Days at Zealandia and Staglands to the exciting opening of our beautiful new homes on Hukatai Street, it’s been a year full of milestones and connection.

We hosted our last 'Neighbours Group' of the year and it was full of delicious kai and good festive company!

We hosted our annual Trade's Breakfast to host our hard-working trades, contractors and suppliers, for all their mahi throughout the year, providing warm, dry and safe homes for whānau.

Bob and the team from BOE Property Services came in to make an early Christmas lunch for our team, and to say thanks for the mahi this year.

Our 'Neighbours Group' had the BEST time at this years Wellington Senior Regional Games, hosted by the amazing team at Nuku Ora - an active Wellington region!

This year marked four years since the launch of Te Āhuru Mōwai. To celebrate, we held an event that highlighted our progress and the ongoing support of our community. 

Te Āhuru Mōwai had an awesome time hosting the Tamariki Sports Day, with support from Cannons Creek Boxing Academy and YMCA!

Our Spring on Owhiti Street event was a fantastic success, and we couldn’t be prouder of how the day turned out!
