10 New Homes for Whānau

Te Āhuru Mōwai is on track for a June launch for 10 new homes in Tuki street, Titahi Bay.

Switched On Building Solutions (SOB), as the main contractor, is leading the construction of these beautiful homes.

Te Āhuru Mōwai is the largest Māori-owned Community Housing Provider in the country providing homes for almost 1000 whānau. The organisation is owned by Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira, while Ngāti Toa also has a majority shareholding in Switched On Building Solutions.

“The mahi completed to date reflects strong collaboration between Te Āhuru Mōwai, Switched On, MHUD and all the local partners involved” says Te Āhuru Mōwai’s CEO James Te Puni. A key feature of the project is the large number of local trades involved, including a number of quality Ngāti Toa trades.

One of the many Ngāti Toa trades on site is Kewa McMillan-Parata, owner of Ka Pai Plumbing. Kewa is an iwi tradesman, leading a team delivering trusted, high-quality plumbing services across Porirua and the wider Wellington region.
