Privacy and Confidentiality

Information held by Te Āhuru Mōwai will be kept confidential in accordance with its obligations under the Privacy Act 2020. In some instances, the Privacy Act 2020 can be overridden by the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989 and the Family Violence Act 2018.

 This means that we will:

  • Only disclose and share your information with your consent

  • Store all personal information securely

  • Only use information for lawful purposes

  • Only collect and store information which relates to your application for housing and on-going tenancy

  • Provide you with access to a copy of any information we hold about you

  • We hold this information to:

    • Ensure that our Tenancy and Property Management Services are responsive, accurate and of high quality

Your right to inspect personal information

You have a right to check the information we hold about you and your tenancy to ensure that it is accurate. This may include your contact and next of kin details. You may ask for this information to be corrected. Please discuss furthur with your Kaihautū Tū Tara ā Whare | Relationship Manager.

Te Āhuru Mōwai and the Ministry of Social Development (Work and Income) will exchange information about you so we can provide you with your correct rate of income-related rent.
